Maria Sousa

After a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s Maria Lurdes Sousa was called home on March 16 2019 to once again be reunited with her parents José Sousa Melo and Liduina do Rosario as well as her beloved brothers João Sousa Melo, Jose Sousa Melo, Manuel Sousa Melo and her only sister Eduarda Carvalho.

Maria Lurdes immigrated to Brampton Ontario at the age of 36 where she gained employment with Maple Lodge Farms from where she would retire.

Maria selflessly dedicated her life to helping and giving to her family of 13 nieces and nephews, 18 great nieces and nephews and 3 great great nieces and nephews who were her life especially her niece Maria Liduina Martins who ultimately cared for her until her very last breath.

Her beautiful smile, kind and gentle heart and compassionate disposition will be greatly missed by all of those whose life she has touched.

Heaven truly gained another angel.
