Maria Silva

It is with truly heavy hearts that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Maria Manuela “Nela” Silva on Saturday, April 25th, 2020 at the age of 59.

Maria is survived by her mother Emilia, who she completely adored, and who was always in her heart, despite their geographical distance apart. Their bond is undeniable, and it will remain strong forever.

She is survived by her devoted and loyal husband Jose, and two children, Vanessa (George), and Alexandre (Suzy), for who she lived completely selfless for, until her final day.

Maria was a cherished big sister to Paulo (Beta) and Aida (Claudino), her siblings that she loved unconditionally.

In these extremely difficult times, we find peace in the thought that she has been re-united with her father Manuel, who was one of her first, and most cherished loves of her life.

She was a person who loved and cared for every single person that entered her life. Whether it was her extended family, of whom she was a caring Aunt, Sister-in-law, cousin and much more. Or her employers and their families, whom she talked about with such joy.

She treated her children’s pets like grandchildren, Frankie, Georgie and China will miss her dearly.

Her attention to detail, incredible mind/memory, and radiating positivity are only a small bit of what made her the unbelievable person that she was. She can never be replicated, but by everyone who knew her, and had the pleasure of meeting her, she should be imitated. She was loved by everyone even if they didn’t know her personally but rather had heard countless stories from those who were lucky enough to call her family and friends. She has left us all with a giant void in our lives, but we hope that the memories she provided us can help comfort us through this loss.
