Passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Monday September 16th, 2024 at the age of 69. Devoted wife of Giuseppe for 50 wonderful years. Loving mother of Raffaele (Carmelina) and Nicola. Cherished Nonna Mia of, Alexia, Claudia, Marco, Massimo, Mila and Mattias. Dear sister of Giuseppe, Rose (Late Angelo), Elizabeth (Angelo), Aldo (Vienna) and Linda (Michelle). Maria will be sadly missed by her many family and friends.

MARIA MICELOTTA WAS born in Montreal to parents Maria and Abbondio Bombardieri.

In 1973  Giuseppe was visiting Montreal on a trip from Italy. He had heard of a young beautiful woman that lived near by, so he went to her home in hopes of meeting her. Maria was sick with a fever and told her mother to send him away. Fortunately, they managed to meet a few days later and this was the beginning of their love story.

Giuseppe and Maria had the opportunity to travel to Italy a few times over the years. Maria loved the Italian coastline along with its sun filled sandy beaches.

Maria enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Quite times for Maria were spent drawing and tending to her gardens.

She was a woman who took pride in her appearance. This spilled over into her career as a hair stylist.

Maria also loved music and dancing. Giuseppe and Maria spent many evenings out dancing the night away. “Until we dance again. I love you Maria.”

Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home 4671 Hwy 7, Woodbridge (just west of Pine Valley Dr.) on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Friday September 20, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church 300 Ansley Grove Rd., Woodbridge. Entombment to follow at Glendale Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to ALS Canada would be appreciated.
