Maria Mavris

With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Maria Mavris on Friday, April 12, 2024 at Toronto Western Hospital.

Maria was born on December 4, 1938 in Gorani, Greece. She migrated to Canada in the early 1960’s, and was later married to Constantinos (Gus) Mavris on August 24, 1963. Maria spent her life loving and caring for her family.

She is survived by her husband Constantinos (Gus) Mavris, her four children: Eugenia Kourakos (Louis), Chris Mavris, Paul Mavris, Sophia Pristine (Agim), her grandchildren: George Kourakos (Tina), Fotini Pantelis (Peter), Ardiana Pristine, Fatos Pristine (Yana), and her great grandchildren: Louis Kourakos, Leah Kourakos.

Maria will be missed dearly and remembered by her family and friends. May her memory be eternal.

Family and friends are welcome to gather at Ward Funeral Home, Weston Chapel, located at 2035 Weston Road in Toronto on Monday, April 15th from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-9:00pm. The funeral service will take place at Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, located at 1 Brookhaven Drive in Toronto, on Tuesday, April 16th at 9:30am. Interment to follow at Beechwood Cemetery.
