Anna Maria (Maria) Marsella

November 29, 1945 - April 19, 2025 

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Anna Maria (Maria) Marsella, who passed away peacefully at her home in Niagara Falls, Canada, on April 19, 2025. Born in Pico, Italy, on November 29, 1945, Maria was predeceased by her parents, Santina and Giuseppe, and her brother Vincenzo. 

Maria is survived by her loving brother Antonino, sister-in-law Marisa, and her dearest, best friend Linda Barrett. She was a cherished aunt to Alexandria, Riccardo, and Adamo Marsella. An adored great-aunt to Georgia, Sofia, and Leo, who she showered with affection. Maria also leaves behind her beloved cousins Grace and Bernie Casale. 

Maria dedicated many years of her life to her work as an ECG technician at Saint Michael’s Hospital in Toronto, where she was known for her wit, sense of humour, and commitment to patient care. Her strong Catholic faith was a cornerstone of her life, providing her with strength and comfort. Maria loved Christmas - movies, decorations (specifically electronic ones that sang), gifts, family gatherings and everything that the holiday represented. She loved science fiction, especially the original Star Trek. She had a life-long interest in world history, loved birdwatching, and had a soft spot for cardinals. She was a true and dedicated Toronto Maple Leafs fan, particularly Mitch Marner. She loved singing and music, and was an excellent cook.

Maria was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Her kindness, generosity, sense of humour and unwavering Catholic faith will be remembered by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made in Maria's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society.
