Licinia Marcelino

It is with great sadness, we say goodbye to Licinia Marcelino, who passed away on Wednesday February 26th, 2025, after a long 17 year battle with cancer. Born on August 12th, 1944 in Salgueiro Portugal. 

Licinia is survived by her children, Luis, Daughter-in-law Fatima, Vitoria, Son-in-law Glenn. She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Devon, Kelly, Trent and Dylan. Licinia has been reunited with her husband Albino of 56 years and her parents Maria Dos Santos and Luis Simoes Rosa, who has gone before her. 

Licinia will be lovingly remembered for her warmth, kindness, and her honesty that was so beautiful. She had a remarkable attention to detail in everything she did day to day. She had a beautiful gift for storytelling, bringing the past to life with vivid memories and heartfelt tales. Her love for cooking was an expression of her deep adoration for her family, filling their home with the warmth and comfort of lovingly prepared, home cooked meals. She found great peace and joy in praying the rosary, her faith serving as a guiding light throughout her life. Above all, Licinia’s unconditional love for her family and friends was wholehearted, and she took great pride in celebrating life’s special moments—birthdays, graduations, and weddings—cherishing each occasion with joy. Her gentle spirit, wisdom, and boundless love will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

Family and friends are invited for visitation at Ward Funeral Home, 52 Main St S, Brampton, ON L6W 2C5 , on Friday February 28th, 2025 from 4- 8pm. 

Funeral Mass to be held at St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church, 115 Vodden St E, Brampton, ON L6V 1M4, Saturday March 1st, 2025 at 1:00pm. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Trillium Health Partners in Licinia’s name and honour. The link for the donation can be found on the donation tab on the top of this page. All donations in Licinia’s name will be directed to William Osler Hospital’s Oncology Department.
