Heaven Gained Another Angel

Maria M. Melo, 73, passed away on Sunday July 24th, 2022 peacefully at home. She was predeceased by her husband, Joáo Alfrado Estrella Melo. They shared 28 years of marriage together. She is survived by her children: Elvira Filomena Ferreira Melo and Steve Ferreira Melo (Jennifer), grandchildren: Carrie, Sabrina, Taylor and great-grandchild: Olivia. In addition, she was a beloved sister, aunt and friend. She was a faithful member of the Catholic Church as shown through her loving commitment to Jesus Christ. Every morning, you could have found her watching “The Price Is Right” and “Let’s Make a Deal” while drinking coffee and enjoying coconut sweet bread with fruit. She also loved her Brazilian soaps, scented candles and playing the Friday night lottery. She will be remembered for her sense of humour, stubbornness and the ability to touch the hearts of everyone she knew.
