Maria Estrela Duarte passed away peacefully at her home, in the early evening of Wednesday January 26th, 2022.

Born in São Miguel, Azores, Maria immigrated to Brampton, Ontario in February 1962 with her four children to rejoin her husband and start their new life together in Canada.

Devoted wife to her late husband, Jose. Loving mother to Natalia (Jose Luis), Jose Manuel (Maria), her late son, Daniel, Fernanda (Graham), andIrene (Mario).Maria’s legacy of love carries on with her 10 grandchildren, their spouses, her 22 great grandchildren and her new great-great granddaughter.

The family wishes to express their immense gratitude to the Personal Support Workers who cared for Maria during her health struggles these past few years.

Family and friends who wish to express their sympathies in the form of a donation are kindly asked to support the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
