Maria Dorio

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Maria Dorio on November 2, 2023. She has joined her loving husband, the late Umberto Dorio, who passed away in 2001. Maria was a devoted mother to Michelina (the late Bruce) and Serena (Vito). She was an adored grandmother to Jennifer (Arcangelo), Christopher (Dannie), Alicia (Gianfranco), Melissa, Christina, and Isabella, and a proud great-grandmother of Mikayla and Cristian. She was a dear sister to Ciarina (the late Vito), late Angelo (Maria), Virginia (the late Joe), Nick (Anna), Anna, and Jimmy (the late Maria). Maria will be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews.

Maria had a passion for tending to her garden, and her homemade meals were simply unparalleled. Nothing brought her greater joy than being surrounded by her loved ones, and family dinners held a special place in her heart. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family, raising her children and grandchildren, who were her pride and joy.

Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home (4671 Hwy 7, Woodbridge) on Monday, November 6, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Peter’s Catholic Church (100 Bainbridge Ave., Woodbridge) on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.

She lived each day to its fullest and represented all that is good in life. She will be forever loved and sorely missed.
