Maria Pia Di Poce

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Maria Pia Di Poce (née Iafrate), born July 31st, 1938 in Pagnanelli, Frosinone, Italy. She was married by proxy to the love of her life, Carmine Di Poce on March 21st, 1954, and later immigrated to Canada in July.
Although Maria Pia was in her 85th year, she continued to selflessly devote herself to her family and loved ones. She was known for her talent and passion for sewing and being a wonderful cook in the kitchen. She will truly be missed by all that knew her and her memory will always live in the hearts of those she touched.
Daughter of Giovanni Iafrate and Santa Iafrate (neé Pennacchia). Beloved sister to the late Franco Iafrate, and she leaves behind her loving sister Ines. Devoted mother to the late Antonino, Mirella, Romina, Nadia and Gianpaolo. Loving Nonna to Natasha, Cassandra, Alexandra, Stefania, Frank-Anthony, Adrian-Carmine, Anthony-Carmine, Emily-Maria Pia and Carmen and Bisnonna to Jack. Cherished mother-in-law to Francesco, Roberto, Maggie and Chris.

In lieu of flowers & expressions of sympathy donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
