Maria (Maruja) Di Giosaffatte (nee Castillo)
It is with profound sadness that the family of Maria Di Giosaffatte announces the peaceful passing of their dearest matriarch, surrounded by the love of her family on June 29, 2023. Maria was born in Valencia, Spain on October 14, 1935, to Juan and Mariadolores and was the dearest sister of Lolin. Maria was the beloved wife of Benedetto for 63 wonderful years. Maria and Benedetto met in Caracas, Venezuela in 1959 and married in 1960. She was the greatest and only love of Benedetto’s life. Together they had two children, Mary, and Robert, who will remember their mother's unconditional love and support. Maria was also a cherished grandmother to Monica (Connor), and Mark.
Maria’s second love was dancing, especially with her husband. They also enjoyed travelling the world together whenever they could. She loved fashion and was always very glamorous and put together. Maria also enjoyed her social life within her Spanish Club, which she held very close to her heart.
Maria was extremely loving and was always one hundred percent supportive of anyone’s wishes. She never had a harsh word, and always wanted the best and found the positive in everyone she met.
Our grief over losing our beloved Maria is infinite and our loving memory of her will always remain in our hearts.
Friends and Family will be received at the Ward Funeral Home (4671 Highway 7, Woodbridge) on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. (4671 Highway 7, Woodbridge).
