On Thursday, August 12th, 2021, our dearest mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, & friend was carried into Jesus' arms; her last and heavenly home. Maria Jose is now reunited with her loving husband Jose Costa, her eldest daughter Anna Maria Costa, as well as many family & friends whom have gone to rest before her. We celebrate her enthusiastic joy of life, her dedication to her cherished family and lifelong friendships, her love of music and dance and her always welcoming smile.

Maria is survived by her daughter Mia Grande, 5 grandchildren Melanie, Chantel, Helen, Darryl, & Laura; spouses, 4 great grand-children Ava, Lucas, Jacob, & Leo, beloved nieces & nephews, and other family & friends.

Visitation will be held at Wards Funeral Home on Tuesday August 17th, 2021 between 11:00 am -12:45pm Please RSVP for the Visitation and Funeral Mass. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Church, final resting being held at Assumption Catholic Cemetery. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 restrictions, there will be no reception following the burial.


To safely manage and adhere to current social distancing requirements, please RSVP for the visitation and service. Wearing of masks or face coverings by everyone remains mandatory as per provincial regulations.

In accordance with directives from the Bereavement Authority of Ontario, Services can be held within the funeral home, accommodating 15% occupancy of our visitation rooms and/or Chapel.

Funeral services being held in a church or place of worship allow for a maximum of 15% building occupancy.

The family has provided the opportunity to view the LiveStream service from the comfort of your own home.
