It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the peaceful passing of Maria Clarissa Pinto (da Cruz), 96, on March 29, 2025 in Mississauga, Canada. Clarissa was born on May 15, 1928 in Goa, India.

Clarissa was the last surviving member of her generation of both the Pinto and da Cruz families. Clarissa was predeceased in 2005 by her beloved husband of 48 years, Oswald John Pinto; her parents Roque and Maria da Cruz; her 9 bothers & sister and their spouses; her 10 brothers & sisters in-law and their spouses.

Clarissa leaves behind her 3 children Apollo (Christine), Maria (Wolfgang), Oswald (Cheryl); her 10 grandchildren Samantha, Rebecca (Shawn), Miranda (Quentin), Ciara, Madeline, Christopher (Lea), Andrea (Kyle), Danielle, Michelle, Sabrina; her 3 great grandchildren Simon, Raegan, Antonia; over 80 nephews & nieces and other family members.

Clarissa was a devout Roman Catholic and an active member of the Catholic Women League of Canada for nearly 60 years. She raised her family to be guided by her integrity, her strong moral compass and by her example of kindness and generosity to others.

Clarissa was humble, patient and gentle, highly intelligent, methodical, well organized and possessed a remarkable memory to the very end. She enjoyed baking sweets, sewing and crochet. She was funny. Clarissa was selfless and compassionate to everyone in her life and thus was the recipient of much love and affection from family, friends and acquaintances.

May Clarissa's soul, and all of the souls of the faithfully departed, rest in peace.
