Maria Do Carmo Cabral (Araujo)
October 22, 1934 - June 17, 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Maria Cabral, at her home surrounded by family in her 89th year.
She is survived by her devoted husband and best friend of 63 years, Cristovao Cabral. Dearly missed by her children Chris (Teresa), Humberto (Maria), Maria (Joe), and Eugene (Fatima); and goddaughter Anna (Dave). Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Brandon (Victoria), Daniel (Rylee), Ryan, Alexa (Daniel), Vanessa (Tommy), Lucas (Sabrina), Julia; and honourary grandson Jacob, and her great-grandson Declan.
Maria was known for her humour and quick wit, though many never had the pleasure of knowing her incredible strength and endurance through many trials of illness. She had a fight to live like no other, and her selflessness and need to put others before her kept her going through any tribulations life through at her. Maria was talented in many ways; whether that be baking and cooking, acting as a seamstress making many of her children's clothes...but above all things, she was our everything. She was our best friend, our rock, our Mamma Bear. She leaves behind a legacy that will continue on through everyone who was blessed enough to have known her.
In Maria's memory, please consider making a donation to the Oakville-Trafalgar Cancer Clinic, or send flowers as a gesture of sympathy.
