Owen, Margaret Sandilands:
It is with sadness that the family of Margaret Sandilands (Rorison) Owen, announce her passing peacefully in her sleep Monday, June 30th, 2014, at her residence, at the age of 91.
Margaret was predeceased by her husband Earl Howard Owen, parents, Janet Sandilands Rorison and Thomas Rorison, her brother Robert Rorison and her oldest son Thomas Howard Owen. She is survived by her children Robert and wife Lesley Owen, Richard and wife Charlene Owen, daughter Janet-Marie and husband Steve Huddle and daughter-in-law Sheila Owen. Margaret was a proud and loving grandmother to Sarah Owen - Vandersluis, Alex Owen, Katie Owen , Richard Owen, Brian Owen, Stephanie Owen, Charis Huddle, Naomi Huddle, and Nathan Huddle.
Margaret grew up in Oshawa before moving to North Bay and then settling in Brampton in 1952. She was a woman of great faith and a very active member of Grace United Church until mobility issues prevented her from attending. As well, the Order of the Eastern Star was another organization that she dearly loved and served as Worthy Matron, as well as in a number of other offices. Most of all Margaret was a dedicated loving wife, mother and grandmother. She gave tirelessly of her time and love to care for her husband Earl who in his later years was chronically ill but was able to live at home until he passed. She was a stay at home mother who supported and loved her children and was supportive in their school work, their sporting activities and their community organizations. The family will receive friends at Grace United Church 156 Main Street North, Brampton on Friday after 9:30 am for a service at 10:30 am. Interment will take place in the Family plot in Oshawa.
