Margaret Hogan – January 11, 1938 – June 3, 2023
It is with the heaviest of hearts that we (Jacqueline and Aileen) announce the passing of our mum, Margaret Hogan.
Mum was born and raised in Glasgow, Scotland. We had many adventures when we were young. In 1963 our dad’s job brought us to Durban, South Africa. We travelled there, by sea, on the Empress of Britain on her maiden voyage. After crossing the equator and spending just under a year in South Africa, mum had had enough and home we went to sunny Glasgow.
It didn’t take long before we were all off again. This time to Canada in 1969. We arrived in the winter to 3 feet of snow. This is where we have called home ever since but mum’s heart and ours have always remained in Scotland.
Our mum was an unconscious comedian. We still look back and laugh at some of her antics and all the silly things she has done over the years.
Mum also had the most generous heart. The joy of her life was her family, and she will be dearly missed by all of us.
Margaret is pre-deceased by her husband Jack, her sister Betty and her brother Andy. Dearly loved by her grandchildren Sarah, Ryan and Sean; her great grandchildren Alexa, Avieyon, Javon, Janae, Joshua, Chelsea, Mason and Leila; her great, great grandchildren, Kiyari and Kimani.
Margaret was Auntie Margaret to Margaret, John, Andrew, Steven, Marion, Samantha and Pauline and all their families.
