Manuel (Ernesto) Lavado

June 10, 1937 - June 3 2023

Manuel passed away peacefully on June 3, 2023, at his home with his beloved wife Arlinda and loving daughter Helen by his side, after a long illness. Manuel is predeceased by his mother Conceicao, brother Armando (Maria Paula) and sister Deolinda (Manuel). He will be deeply missed by many nieces and nephews, family and friends living in Canada, Portugal, France, Switzerland and Brazil.

Manuel was born in Portugal and spent his early adult years in both Portugal and France, and eventually immigrated to Canada in the late 1970’s. Brampton was his Canadian home where he shared his love and generosity with generations of Arlinda's family and other extended family. However, Manuel’s passion remained for his native Portugal and of course Sporting, his favourite soccer team. He loved to watch soccer and travel to Portugal as often as he could, creating lasting memories with both family and friends.

Manuel experienced his long life to the fullest. He remained true to his spirit right to the end with his good nature and playful sense of humor, making those around him laugh. On June 10, 2023, Manuel would have celebrated his 86th Birthday with family and friends. We are comforted to know that he is now celebrating with those who have passed before us. Manuel has left a legacy of kindness and will always be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and favourite Tio (uncle) to many. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
