Luljeta Korbeci

Luljeta Narazani Korbeci was born in Albania on October 15 1958. She was the third child of Xhafer and Meliha Narazani. She grew up surrounded by love with two loving parents who were educators and two older brothers, Agron and Adrian.

She was an excellent pupil and student. She made her family proud by earning a degree in Finance at the University of Tirana in 1981. She has worked as an economist in different institutions, including the Ministry of Finance of Albania and the Insurance Institute of Albania until 2001.

She married in 1985 to Bashkim Korbeci and gained even more love from his family. They had two children, Bihter and Sirgi. In 2001, they moved to Toronto, Canada where she worked as a Screening Officer at Toronto Pearson International Airport until 2014. She then pursued an even bigger job which was to help raise her grandchildren, Catherine and Christopher.

"She will be forever missed."

Eulogy to be shared:

"Mom was born in Albania on October 15 1958. She was the third child of Xhafer and Meliha Narazani.
She grew up surrounded by love, two loving parents who were educators and two older brothers, Agron and Adrian. She was the youngest in the family which meant she had to fight her own battles but also very protected on all sides.

She met our father Bashkim and married in 1986. Soon after, I joined them with my sister Sirgi. Mom and dad have loved each other so much that there is no other concept of love that I know. They both worked hard, mom as an economist and dad as a physician. Despite their long hours of work, mom would always take long lunches to join us home during the summer months where we were off of school. When there was known political unrest, she would come home early and gather/protect us at home. It was this geopolitical unrest that led my parents to uproot our family to Canada in the early years of 2000. For two career oriented individuals to leave a comfortable life and start brand new was the ultimate sacrifice that my parents made for my sister and I. They have both worked very hard to make our life safe so that we could pursue education without fear. We made her and dad proud as my sister and I graduated from the University of Toronto. She continued to give even more love when her grand babies arrived, Catherine, Christopher and George. I am proud to say she helped raise my kids and sad to say that my youngest will not be able to feel the generous love she would give. She was a lovable person and had many friends whom she continued to stay in contact with. Even as we were separated by distance from her own brothers and rest of family she would remind us to try our best to stay close to them as there is nothing more important than family.

She was very artistic at heart and instilled this on us. As she was graciously aging she found a love for painting. She has made a lot of paintings at home that now cover almost all our walls. Friends and family whom we video chatted would always know they were talking to mom by the background of art that she was surrounded with.

Despite her getting sick over the last year she would keep a smile every time she saw us even when we knew she was hurting. She continued to encourage us, to keep the family closer now more than ever and to continue to pursue our dreams in life. She never wanted to get sick, she had dreams she wanted to fulfill, she had more love to give. However god had different plans and wanted this particular angel by his side.
“Qoft i perjetshem kujtimi jot.”
