Beloved Daughter.

Lucille Amanda (Stephens) Mason, 87, of Toronto, Canada, passed away on August 18, 2021.
Lucille (affectionately called Beryl) was born on November 10, 1934 to the late Ezekiel and Caroline Stephens in [Westmorland, Jamaica]. She was the fourth of seven children and is survived by two sisters, Carmen and Faye.

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
- Isaiah 41:10

Early Life

At a young age, Lucille spent her life as a hairdresser before she graduated from ELM Training School. She spent her career spreading love and warmth to others, working in several medical facilities over the years touching the lives of all she helped. She was a business owner of Mason Manor for over a decade, where she provided care for the mentally ill in affiliation with Queen Street Hospital, Toronto.

Her Journey

In 1969, she immigrated to Canada. She was married to the late Joseph James Mason for 42 years before his death in September 2016.

Her Legacy

Mother to 11 wonderful children, Nelly, Patricia, Phyllis, Cecil, Beverly, Derrick, Jeannie, Donna, Geoffrey, Denise and Anthony. She was the beating heart and soul of the family she cherished to her last breath. She is survived by 34 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 3 son-in-laws, 2 daughter-in-laws and a host of nieces, nephews and friends that referred to her ‘Mommy” or “Grandma”.

“I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed.”
- Psalm 34:4-5

In Loving Memory

Kind and compassionate, Mrs. Mason was a God-fearing woman of great inner strength and resolve. For over 30 years, she remained a dedicated and wholly committed member of Zion Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ in Toronto, singing her favourite song “Precious Memories, How They Linger”.
She is loved and will be missed by her family, friends, and church family. Rest in Peace, Mommy. We love you.

“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.”
- John 14:27
