Luciana Marinello (April 2, 1935 – July 26, 2021)
Luciana immigrated to Canada from Italy in 1957 for a new life with her future husband, Giovanni Marinello. They were married August 24, 1957 and remained loyally together for 52 years until Giovanni’s death in 2010.
They started a family soon after and were blessed with three daughters and one son: Maruzzella (Michel), Valerie, Fillis (Willie) and Will (Nicole), followed by two grandchildren: Warren and Natalie (Kyle). She was also blessed with one great-granddaughter, Avery, who she absolutely adored.
She loved to sew, to tend her vegetable garden and was a very competitive card player and bocce (lawn bowling) player.
She will be fondly remembered by her family and friends as a loving, hard-working, generous person, with a great sense of humor. She will be dearly missed.
Luciana strongly believed in God’s promises as outlined in His word the Bible. She felt just like the Bible character Job. He said to God: “If a man dies, can he live again? I will wait all the days of my compulsory service until my relief comes. You will call, and I will answer you. You will long for the work of your hands.” Job 14:14, 15.
