It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lucia Di Giorgi, at the age of 81. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family.

Born in San Valentino, Abruzzo, Lucia was a proud Italian, who cherished her roots and carried the spirit of her homeland wherever she went. She emigrated to Canada when she was 18, where she built a life that centered around family, love and traditions.

She possessed a deep religious faith that served as a steady compass, guiding her through both life's challenges & blessings. This faith not only provided her with inner strength but also instilled in her a profound sense of compassion, shaping the way she interacted with others. Her beliefs inspired her to approach people with kindness, understanding, and empathy.

She will be forever missed by her children Filippo (Cindy), Tony (Tonia), Anna (Bill), Paolo, Maria (Tony). Very proud Nonna to Michael, Leo (Kaitlyn), Peter (Paola), Juliana (Josh), Josia (Christian), Celina (Michele) and great grandson Santino.

Lucia is now joyfully reunited in heaven with her beloved first husband, Pietro Marinucci, cherished second husband of 48 wonderful years, Leonardo Di Giorgi, her parents Antonio and Concetta, her niece Concetta, and the many loved ones that have passed before her.

Lucia will be forever cherished by all her family and friends. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile and kind heart.

If desired, the family would appreciate memorial donations be made to Hospice Vaughan, in memory of Lucia Di Giorgi.

Lucia's family welcomes family and friends to a visitation held on Tuesday, January 28th from 5-8pm and on Wednesday, January 29th from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, January 30th at 9:30am at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Woodbridge.
