Lorne passed away on September 5th, 2023 at North York General hospital. He was born to Parents John and Mildred Silvester in Toronto, ON.
He was predeceased by his loving wife Rosemary.
He will be greatly missed by his daughters Debbie & Kim, son in law Mike and cuddle companion Freddie the cat.
Lorne was a quiet man with a gentle soul and a heart of gold. He had a passion for woodworking and Christmas. Decorating the backyard every year was a must; bringing joy to the entire neighborhood. His workshop was a space that brought him much joy and comfort. He even created a mini work bench, complete with a set of tools for his youngest daughter so he could share his passion with her. He was very glad when son in law Mike also shared a love for woodworking. They spent many hours building and creating things for others to enjoy. Travelling with family and going on day trips was always special, never failing to comment on all the trees there were as he looked out the window. As a long time scout he often gave directions by the side of the tree the moss grew on (North Side). It wasn’t easy to follow those directions.
He will be greatly missed by Brother Ken Silvester and Partner Janet Laverne Baker, Sister Linda and Michael Osuch, sister in law Doneen Silvester, nieces and nephews Steve and Donna Doodchenko, Kathy and Nelson Cheung and Sherry Doodchenko. Including many other nieces and nephews. As well as dear friends Ed Upenieks “adopted son” and Janet Londry.
He will join those he loved and passed before him, Sister Joan & Leo Doodchenko, Brother Bruce Silvester, sister in law Lynda Silvester and nephew Michael Doodchenko.
