Lois Brooks

BROOKS, LOIS ALBERTA

Peacefully on Wednesday, January 19th, 2022 at the age of 86. Predeceased by her beloved husband of 60 years Richard (Dick) Brooks. Loving mother of Bob and his wife Leslie, Brenda and her husband Mark Shedden and Jim. Cherished “Lolo” to grandchildren Matthew, Stephanie (Tylyr) Tombs, Dylan and Morgan. Great grandmother to Taylor.

Lois will be remembered for her unreserved love of family and friends. She loved her family cottage summers, annual Florida trips, scrabble, bowling, bridge, and travel. Her life will also be defined by her generosity and giving of herself to the community in countless ways, Meals on Wheels and volunteering at Queen Elizabeth Hospital among them.

Lois and her family want to thank the staff at Queens Estate and Chartwell, Scarlet Heights, for their care and compassion. We also want to thank Jamie at Gentle Touch Assisted Living for her team’s special care over the years. We especially want to express our heartful gratitude to our very special PSW, friend and companion, Elsie, for her unwavering love, expertise and care for mom.
Lois will be remembered always and missed by all that knew her. In lieu of flowers, please direct any donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada. You may donate here on the Ward Funeral Home memorial page.

The family will gather for private time on Tuesday January 25th prior to her service of committal at 12:30pm at Westminster Cemetery, 5830 Bathurst Street (just north of Finch Avenue).
