It is with heavy hearts the family of Lloyd Joseph Fournier, age 69, announce his sudden passing at home in Brampton on September 22, 2017. He was proud of his Metis heritage and became an Ojibwa elder. He received a humanitarian award in 2011 for his efforts to supply books to northern Aboriginal communities. Over the years Lloyd was a member of different organizations including the Royal Canadian Legion and the Masonic Lodge. Lloyd had a spirited love of politics and involved himself in numerous local and provincial community causes. He was an accomplished artist; with a passion for writing, painting, photography and guitar.


Lloyd is survived by his wife Mira, son Timothy (Alison), daughter Katharine (Matthew), brothers David and Bill. He is predeceased by his parents Lloyd Austin and Anne Fournier.


Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday September 29, 2017 at Wards Funeral Home Brampton 52 Main Street South Brampton Ontario. Visitation from 2-3pm, memorial service 3pm, followed by a reception at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 15, 80 Mary Street Brampton Ontario.


Memorial donations is Lloyd’s name can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to causes that support the education of Aboriginal youth.
