Lina La Rosa (nee Mandaglio)
January 18, 1946 – November 9, 2023
Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2023. She was born on January 18, 1946, in Giffone, Reggio Calabria. Lina led a remarkable life filled with love and devotion to her family and community.
Lina met the love of her life, Salvatore, in her hometown of Giffone during her teenage years and married before Salvatore left to start a new life for the two of them in Canada, Lina following shortly after. Lina enjoyed her career in downtown Toronto as a seamstress. However, her greatest calling came when she became a stay-at-home mother to her four beloved boys: Andre (Sue), Fortunato (Sina), Martino (Stephanie), and Maurizio (Angela). Lina's dedication and selflessness were apparent in every aspect of her life – she always put everyone else's needs before her own. Lina was an adoring grandmother to Michael, Julia, Maurizio, Adriano, and Daniela. She is now reunited with parents Fortunato and Marina, as well as siblings Michelina and Giuseppe.
In addition to caring for her family, Lina was an active woman who enjoyed walking everywhere she went. She found solace in the simplicity of life. Her unwavering faith played a significant role in shaping who she was as a person. Lina devoted much of her time to her church community, finding comfort in her faith.
Beyond her spiritual pursuits, Lina's hobbies included gardening, cooking delicious meals for her loved ones, and entertaining friends and family. The moments that brought Lina the most happiness were those spent with her children and grandchildren.
Lina's proudest accomplishments were undeniably rooted in the love she had for her family. She was a source of unwavering support for each one of them. Her guidance and nurturing nature shaped their lives profoundly, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts.
Surrounded by the love of her family at all times until the very end, Lina's passing leaves a void that cannot be filled. Her unwavering love, compassion, and selflessness will forever be cherished by her loved ones.
