It is with great sadness that we announce our much beloved Lina Gabriele passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 25th, 2018. Beloved wife of Achille Gabriele of 68 years. Daughter of Angelo and Luisa De Blasio. Predeceased by her sister Ida De Blasio, and brothers Aldo (Velma) and Nicola De Blasio. Will be missed by her brother and sister-in-law Ferruccio and Giovanna in Italy. Loving Aunt to many nieces, nephews and cousins. Lina will be fondly remembered by her caregivers, many friends and extended family. Lina was born in Bagnoli Del Trigno, Isernia, Italy in 1923 and immigrated to Toronto in 1948. Lina enjoyed a full and happy life with her husband and family and friends. Lina was passionate about cooking, baking, sewing and traveling, as well as being very proud to work as a seamstress in downtown Toronto for many years. Lina and Achille were proud supporters of their local parish All Saints Roman Catholic Church for over 50 years. Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road (North of Lawrence Ave. W.) Weston, on Friday March 2 from 2-4 & 6-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at All Saints Roman Catholic Church 1415 Royal York Road on Saturday March 3 at 10:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation or the St. Joseph’s Health Centre Foundation would be appreciated.
