Lillian Macil Prouse passed away peacefully surrounded by family after a short illness.
Lillian was the cherished wife of Russel E. Prouse, devoted mother of Richard (Susan), Janet (Robert), Patricia (Lyle) and Roger (Sheila), dearly missed by 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and many friends and relatives. Lillian was a member of St. Paul’s United Church and a tireless volunteer for the United Church Women (UCW), presbytery and bell choir. Her charitable efforts will be long remembered as a Kinette and a longtime can¬vasser for the Canadian Cancer Society. She was a bridge club member, a member of the Brampton Curling Club and avid sports fan of the Blue Jays, Maple Leafs, Argos and Brampton Excelsiors. At home, Lillian was a wonderful baker and canner but her favourite past time was to read, lakeside, at the family’s Lake Simcoe cottage.
Visitation is on November 1 from 6:30-9:00pm at Ward Funeral Home, 52 Main St S, Brampton. A service for Lillian will be held the following day, November 2, in the sanctuary of St. Pauls United Church, 30 Main St. S, Brampton at 1:00p.m., followed by refreshments and fellowship hosted by the UCW.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
