Lillian "Eileen" McKinney

Lillian Eileen McKinney (nee Thompson), aged 95, passed away peacefully with family at her side on March 13, 2022 due to natural causes. She was born March 21, 1926 in Bolton, Ontario to Alexander and Nellie Thompson. She married the love of her life, Joseph Maxwell McKinney, in September of 1951 who preceded her in his death in 1997. She was the first of four children and is predeceased by Leslie and Gertrude and survived by Marguerite.

Eileen was a dedicated mother who treasured her three children (Cathy (Hal), David (Fiona) and Neil (Tina), and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Grandma to her eight grandchildren (Max, Christine, Ariane, Jordan, Aisling, Devyn, Jason and Christy Anne); and as GeeGee to her eight great grandchildren (Margaret, James, Faye, Mayson, Kenza, London, Rory and Knox).

Eileen spent many hours at York West Seniors where she did crafts and worked in the kitchen with her friends. She was also a member of the congregation at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Weston for many years.

Family & friends are invited to attend a reception and viewing from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm followed by the service at 1pm at Wards Funeral Home 2000 Weston Rd, York, Ontario on Thursday March 17, 2022. The service will be followed by the interment at Nobleton Community Cemetery on Hwy 27.
