On July 1, 2023 Leandro (Leo) Benjamin Arruda Walls passed away unexpectedly at the age of 37. He is survived by his wife Cassândra Nicholson Walls, his dog Chevy, his parents Emiliana and George Walls, his siblings Ryan (Tracy) Walls, Nathan Walls and Leighan Garrison. Walls, Grandma and grandpa, Yolanda Arruda and Dimas C. Arruda, Nannie and grampy Constance K. Walls and Victor Walls.
Leandro was born at Etobicoke General Hospital on Saturday January 18, 1986. He was raised in Brampton, where he built many lifelong friendships playing sports competitively from the age of 5 through 18 years. He was a protective teammate in hockey, in line and baseball.
Leo graduated from Cambrian College in Sudbury with a Fire Fighter diploma and Carpentry diploma. He had many jobs which included landscaping, refereeing In Line, working at a cabinet making company, and installing fire prevention equipment. He then pursued a career in sales and worked for Gus Brown in Whitby briefly and Royal Chevrolet in Orangeville for 8 years where he enjoyed selling vehicles and the camaraderie between coworkers. His passion for supporting people and his natural talent in negotiation led to a career change into real estate, beginning at Royal City Realty in Fergus, followed by a move to Royal LePage RCR Realty in Arthur. Leo’s superb client experience, genuine desire to help others, uniquely innovative personality and his focus on becoming an expert in his field contributed in him quickly achieving Royal Lepage’s President’s Gold award in 2021 and 2022. He was set to receive this award, or above, again in 2023. His clients truly did “Surround themselves with the Right Walls”.
Leo met the love of his life Cassândra in 2014, they quickly became inseparable and began to build a life together in Arthur. The two celebrated their deep connection together with marriage on Friday October 13, 2017. July 3, 2018 they unfortunately lost baby Leandro, who is now in his arms.
Leandro with that twinkle in his eyes, his teddy bear embrace, handsome smile and those dimples, will be greatly missed by everyone he met and knew. He was a pillar of support and encouragement for many who crossed his path. He will be forever remembered for his love of helping people, genuine nature, incredible cooking skills, integrity, wit, laughter, wisdom and truly uplifting personality.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm, and Saturday, July 15, 2023 from 9:30am until 10:30am, at Ward Funeral Home, 52 Main Street South, Brampton. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 66A Main Street South, Brampton, at 11:00am on Saturday, July 15, 2023. Cremation will take place.
