Lawrence had been a loyal, loving husband to Marilyn, as well as a father to Sharallee and grandfather of Elias and Elroy. Those boys meant the world to him, his last years were spent being the best Grandpa. Adventure walks, night swims, pocket treats, and many more activities were just some of the small ways to show he cared.

Lawrence was one of four children, and was predeceased by his parents William Sr, Mary and brother William. He has two older sisters, Maureen and Gwen, with children, and grandchildren of their own

He will be missed by more than a dozen nieces and nephews. Although he was known as “Uncle Lawrence” to many more.

Lawrence was born in Toronto, Ontario and attended schools located around the Rexdale and North York area. Growing up, Lawrence had many friends, some of which became family. He had an enormous heart and could not stand the thought of a person suffering. He made it his goal to care for and create a welcoming environment in his home, for anyone in need.

He devoted his life to providing for his family. Every single workday he would get up at 3:30am to start his day. He came straight home after work and cooked a hot meal everyday, no questions asked. After all his hard work, you better believe he made sure he enjoyed his weekend! His home was open to all his family, lifelong friends and neighbours to join him for a beer and a good laugh. He loved to socialize and was always the life of the party. But if you needed him, he would stay up all night and talk. He could be the silliest, most serious and open-hearted person.

His passion for movies, music and laughter was no secret to anyone that met him. If his music was blasting, you knew he was in a good mood. I don’t think any of us will be able to watch a Dean Martin Roast or sketch-comedy the same.

Lawrence loved being in nature. Outside and fresh air were his relaxation. He enjoyed his morning walks. His charisma was captivating. Often, he could turn a stranger into a friend. With any conversation you had, I guarantee his interest and energy were pure and genuine. His ability to drop what he was doing at moments notice to help someone in need was unmatched.

He loved and was loved. His laugh and spirit will forever be with all of us.
