Laurine M. Martyn Cowie (nee McCorkle)

September 5, 1918 – September 4, 2016
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of our wonderful Mother. She died peacefully in her home with family by her side, at the age of 98.
Cherished Mother to Marianne, Laurine, Lynda (Gerald R. Dodds) and Ross (Maria ). Loved Mother-in-Law of the late Bruce Sheppard.
Predeceased by husbands Gordon A. Martyn and William E. Cowie.
Mom will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Natazia and Christina Martyn, Tracy Dodds, and Melissa Hockey. Great grandmother to James Cook and loving Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Stepmother to Judy (Phil Hudson), and Donna (Earl Knipple). She will be missed by her sister Geraldine (David Johnson) and sister-in-law Ollie McCorkle of Berwyn Alberta. Predeceased by siblings Adaline, James, Ellen, Delmar, and Robert.
Special thanks to Dr. Lisa Chiang for her dedicated home visits with Mom and gratitude to Caregivers Melissa, Ethel and Margo.
Friends and relatives may call at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road (North of Lawrence Ave. W.) Weston, on Monday September 12 from 10:00 a.m. until the Memorial Service in the chapel at 11:00 am. Cremation has taken place.
