It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Laurie McMahon.
Laurie passed away on March 7, 2024 at Brampton Civic Hospital with family and friends by her side.
Laurie was supported for her adult life by Brampton Caledon Community Living. Laurie was a remarkable individual whose journey was marked by resilience, courage, and an extraordinary capacity to bring joy and inspiration to those around her. Laurie’s life, was a testament to the human strength and the significant impact of love and acceptance.
Laurie shared a special bond with her family, who stood by her through every high and low. To Laurie, family was everything – a source of endless love, support, and security.
I would like to thank all of those involved in Laurie's life, including staff and friends for the valued and inclusive life they assisted in providing Laurie.
In the days leading up to her passing, Laurie had many family members and friends visit her and share stories about her fiery personality and wicked sense of humor.
Laurie leaves behind her long time friend and sister, Debra Rose, brother-in law, Dave Murray, niece Kyleigh Murray (Andy Martyk), great nephew Mackinley, father Brian Smith and good friend Crystal as well as many other relatives and friends. She is predeceased by her mother, Lynn Smith.
Cremation has taken place.
