Rosebrugh, Laura – Laura passed away peacefully at Ian Anderson House in Oakville on December 21, 2014 at the age of 65. Laura was the much beloved wife and partner of Haden Heathcock with whom she shared camping trips, canoeing experiences and peaceful days at their cottage on Lake Miskwaki in Haliburton. She will be greatly missed by her brother Michael (Debbie), step-sons Stephen (Cheryl) and Alan (Tina) and brother-in-law Rob Heathcock (Tiina). Laura loved Christmas and delighted in filling stockings for her nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Erin (Nick ), Andrea (Graham ) Fraser, Kevin (Lindsay), Gregory Rosebrugh, Ian Heathcock and Michael Flett, hold many wonderful memories of their Aunt Laura as do her grandchildren Rachel, Jacob, Caleb, Isaac and Remi. Laura was predeceased by her parents, Murray and Helen (Lynn) Rosebrugh. After earning degrees from The University of Western Ontario and University of Windsor, Laura taught for thirty years at Lorne Park Secondary School in Mississauga. Students in her English classes fondly remember her as a challenging and fair teacher who encouraged them to aim high in life. She will be missed by her many friends, especially the “Ladies of the Lake”, and the members of her book club. Laura’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the Palliative Care Teams at Oakville Trafalgar Hospital and Ian Anderson House and to Don and Patty MacIntosh and Patricia and Ted Dillon for their friendship and support.
Visitation will be held at Ward Funeral Home, 109 Reynolds Street, Oakville from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday January 28. A Celebration of Life will be held at Maple Grove United Church, 346 Maple Grove Drive, Oakville at 11 am on Saturday January 31, 2015.
