It is with profound sadness that the Nervo and Di Paolo families announce the passing of Laura on March 22, 2023.

Beloved wife of John. Treasured mother to Alexandra (Nick) and David. Devoted daughter of Romana and Mario Nervo. Loving sister to Luisa (André) and Sandra (Peter). Fondly remembered by the Di Paolo family and her many nieces and nephews. Devoted friend to Ellen and Joyce, and many others.

Laura was a woman of great caring and integrity; a truly inspiring soul. She had a deep love of family, friends, gardening, reading, word games, and Pepper the family dog. Her enjoyment of a fine bottle of prosecco knew no bounds. She will be greatly missed by all those she touched.

Laura taught for over 30 years. Her impact on the communities she served was felt by many students, parents, and teaching associates. Laura will always be remembered for her smile and laugh. She truly lived a life full of blessings and purpose. We will love her forever.

For those who wish, donations can be made to Mount Sinai Hospital or the Dorothy Ley Hospice in Laura’s honour. The families wish to thank the nurses and doctors of the 12th floor for the exceptional care and dedication that Laura received during her illness. The families also thank the caregivers and volunteers at Dorothy Ley Hospice for their care during Laura’s last weeks. We are very grateful to them for allowing Laura to pass with dignity.
