Ashmore - Laura
Born May 11th, 1979, passed away on November 20th, 2015 after a short battle with pancreatic cancer at William Osler Hospital in Brampton. Laura is survived by her husband Keith Williams, and their children Ryan, Shelby, Morgan, and Hailey.
Laura was a loving and nurturing mother who gave herself completely to her children and her community to ensure that no one ever wanted for anything. A tireless advocate for her family, Laura always made certain that their best interests and needs were looked after first.
Keith would like to thank the many people who offered their unwavering support and generosity during this extremely difficult time: Glenn, Trish, and everyone at Aztec Hydraulics whose assistance gave the Williams family the time and the resources to fight what turned out to be the two biggest battles of Laura’s life; Kate, Mr. J., Mr. Meyer, and the entire community at W. G. Davis Senior Public school; Lisa, Randall, and everyone from Sir Wilfred Laurier Public School who has reached out; David Acri who helped Laura, Keith, and their children win their first battle; and Catherine, Jennifer and all of the staff at The Arts and Culture Department from the City of Brampton for their friendship and on-going assistance.
The Williams’ would also like to express their extreme gratitude to their friends – your emotional support over the last two-and-a-half years meant the world to them: to Keith’s brother, Craig, and his wife Cristina; Mike and Krista; Mert and Ron, who took on the roles of surrogate grandparents; Cathie; Clare; Lynn; Uncle Neil; Margaret and Jeff; Stu and Diane; Kristin and Melanie; Todd and Kasia; and everyone else who provided their steadfast love and support so that Laura could get through both of her battles with grace and dignity, a very special thank you.
A private service was held for close friends at Ward Funeral Home in Brampton on November 29, 2015.
Those wishing to make a gesture in Laura’s memory are asked to donate to the IndieGogo campaign Keith’s brother Craig has set to help Keith deal with the unexpected and overwhelming reality of suddenly becoming a single parent with four children (http://igg.me/at/DSbcvuol3H8 or Indiegogo campaign number 1549705), or to the Terry Fox Foundation.
