Loved Son, brother, uncle and friend.

Derek Larry Torwell Yurkiw, 56 passed away peacefully at his home in Etobicoke on January 7 2022 after courageously battling cancer, surrounded by his loving family and close friends.

He is survived by his mother, father, loving sister, nieces and best friend Randy Hall.

Derek's life was rich with family and friends who adored him and he will be dearly missed by all.

As each day begins to pass without you here often times we can still feel you near.
Your lust for life was like a flower in bloom, your smile could light up a room.
The color of your eyes would always glisten, we saved your voicemails so we can still listen.
Your suffering is no longer real and now you can finally heal.
As we look back on the past and all the times you made us laugh we know in our hearts this isn't goodbye our love for you all odds could defy. We will hold you tightly in our hearts and there you will remain, we accept there are just some things that will never be the same. We know you are at peace now shinning down from above, walking with God and surrounded by love.
