Konrad (aka KMAN), techie, gadget guy, lover of all things audio-visual and weekend racer with the Porsche Club, died on Christmas Eve after an arduous battle with esophageal cancer.
Konrad embraced life and all it had to offer and as such was a man with a staggering number of interests and hobbies. Even more impressive was the depth of his knowledge in each and every area and his passion to share this knowledge. To get a ‘Konrad education’ on any subject meant you could write a novel on the subject.
Also near and dear to Konrad were his family, friends and food. At 6’3” his love for food started at an early age that often earned him a few paddles with the wooden spoon. He was also a ‘people’ person with a dry sense of humour, who relished being surrounded by those he loved. We will miss his infectious laugh and bear hugs at the family sambuca conferences.
Konrad is the cherished son of Alfred Weinstock (Evelyn Crawford) and the late Anna-Maria Weinstock. He will be missed by his big sister, Monika Callin (Stephen) and lovingly remembered by nephews Michael, Daniel and Adam. He is survived by his aunt/tante Ursula and uncle Victor Vidale and fondly remembered by cousins Marisa Vidale-Peters, Ricardo Vidale (Leila) and all of his family in Germany.
The family will receive friends at the Ward Funeral Home, “Oakville Chapel”, 109 Reynolds Street, Oakville (905 844 3221) on Sunday, December 29, 2013 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. Service will be held in the chapel on Monday at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Trafalgar Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for a donation to Ian Anderson House in Oakville, the hospice where Konrad stayed in his final days and where teams of angels took great care of him.
