In his 90th year, Ken’s wish to “go to sleep and not wake up” was granted on January 1, 2021. Ken grew up in the Runnymede-St Clair area of Toronto with his 3 brothers and 3 sisters. He started his working life in his father’s business, York Sporting Goods, later York Baits. Ken spent some time managing the Spur service station on Weston Road in the 1970’s before joining the TTC, from where he retired. Ken was married for over 50 years to the love of his life Roz who passed away in 2010. Although never having a family of their own, in later years Ken and Roz provided unconditional love and guidance to Jordan and Nickalla Marshall-Leftley. Finding it increasingly difficult to manage on his own after the passing of Roz, Ken moved to St Hilda’s Care Community in 2013, where he was supported by the caring and dedicated staff there until his passing.
