ARLISS, Kenneth, CPA, CA. - After a short illness, on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 having just celebrated his 90th birthday. Predeceased by his beloved wife Jill. Cherished father of Sarah. Born in England, he was educated and became head prefect at Lancing College in West Sussex. He was accepted to St. Edmund (Teddy) Hall in Oxford where he trained for the Fleet Air Arm, but, as WWII drew to a close, he served at sea for almost 4 years, first on a minesweeper (HMS Fly) and later as a radar operator on the carrier HMS Illustrious. On leaving the Navy he became a Chartered Accountant. Around the same time he met Jill. They married in 1950 and came to Canada in 1952. He was an independent CA and public auditor and finally joined Canadian Kodak (later Kodak Canada) in 1957, where he stayed for over 30 years as manager of data processing (information systems). He and Jill adored Canada with all that it had to offer: peace, natural beauty and wildlife, lakes and rivers. Possessed of a grand sense of humour, Ken enjoyed his family, friends, nature, birds, gardening and dogs. A private service and cremation will take place. In lieu of flowers, donations to Ontario Nature, Humber River Hospital or a charity of your choice would have made him happy.
