Peacefully passed away on May 24, 2009 at the age of 85. Will forever be loved by Phyllis (nee Wilson), wife of 56 years, sons David and Gary, daughter-in-law Laura and grandchildren Josh, Madeleine, Spencer and Della, as well as Ron and Lynne Alderson his only surviving close Brantford relatives. Ideal husband and father lived a life in balance, a romantic with old-school charm was also an excellent role model who instilled a sense of adventure tempered by respect and understatement. Fun-loving, but never at anyone's expense, Keith was a magnet for new and old friends. A keen love of all music took Keith (member of Local 149 since '71) and his double bass from RCAF Swing Band to regular gigs in and around Toronto, including more than two decades as RCMI house band leader. A respected and trusted entertainment agent, he was one of the first to facilitate exchange of performers between the Caribbean and Toronto. "Mr Keith" was happiest at home with family and friends, on a beach with ‘in-laws Howard, Ophelia, Don and Marion and when promoting live music. Special friends Connie and Tom and all his good neighbours made his life more comfortable. Thanks to the nurses at Scarborough Grace for their kindness and care. A private service will be held at Ward Funeral Home followed by interment at Churchville Cemetery. A Tribute to Keith will be held on Saturday, June 13 between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. at The University Club of Toronto, 380 University Avenue, Toronto: RSVP to Laura 416 244 9291 or lauraalderson@yahoo.com. Donations in lieu of flowers to the Toronto Musicians' Association's Members' Assistance Fund or the Out of The Cold Program at St Andrew’s Church, Toronto.
