It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Karen Snelson in her 79th year, on September 8th, 2023, peacefully at home after a brief illness.
Beloved wife to Kenneth Snelson, married for 44 years. Daughter of deceased parents Roy and Margret Riseley. Sister of Roy Riseley (Janice) Janice Pearson (Bill) and David Riseley. Loving Mother of Keith Larkin (Joanne), and Marianne Heppolette (Dave). Step mother to Julia St. Louis (Archie), and Caroline Sawyer (Steve). Adoring Grandmother of seven grandchildren, Claire (Peter), Elizabeth (Alex), Trevor, Maddison (Kristian), Archie Jr, Frankie and Sydney.
Karen had a great sense of adventure, as she travelled the world, she loved to try different foods and learn all about the countries she explored. Karen also had a passion for figure skating, she would travel all over Canada to watch skate Canada as well as North Americas Grand Prix of figure skating. Karen also had a love of her city as she would bike ride and take many walks along all the trails of Toronto. Karen was a devoted grandma to her grandchildren’s activities, she loved to watch them dance, cheer, hockey, field hockey and soccer.
We extend our gratitude to the staff at the Village of Humber Heights, for love and care they provided to Karen over the past three years and especially the last little while as she battled her brief illness. Flowers can be sent to Ward Funeral Homes at Weston (Toronto) chapel. Karen will be greatly missed by all who knew her. We will hold her in our hearts forever.
If you would like to make a donation in Karen's memory the family would appreciate consideration to Princess Margaret Hospital or Sick Kids Hospital.
