After a heroic battle with cancer, surrounded by her three children on December 31st, 2015. Predeceased by her husband James. Loving mother of Chris Helik (Tony), Gord (Kim) and John. Very proud grandmother of Jamie Lee and Jack Mummery, James (Jessica) and Rob (Jaime) Helik. Great grandmother (GG) to Olivia and Carleigh. Joyce is survived by her cousin Silvia (Jo) Newton. Longtime devoted best buddy to Merle (Bathgate). Friends and family may gather for visitation for Joyce on January 5th, 2016 at the Ward Funeral Home (52 Main St. S, Brampton) from 1:30-3:00pm with a Celebration of Life at 3:00pm. Cremation to follow. A very special thank you to her caregivers, in particular; Rajinder, Pushpal and Amanda who looked after her with love, compassion, but most important , a sense of humor. In lieu of flowers a donation to a charity of your choice is appreciated.
