TARSI, Jozsef Laszlo
August 1938 – December 2022
It is with a heavy heart to announce that Joseph peacefully passed away at Mackenzie Health Hospital, in Richmond Hill, ON on Monday, December 26, 2022, at the age of 84.
Joe was born in Hungary to Lidia Kasza and Janos Tarsi. At the age of 19, he immigrated to Canada and landed in Moncton in 1957, then later settled in Ontario in 1958.
Joe is survived by his loving daughter Susanne Pynn (Gus); his 3 grandchildren Brittany (Ryan), Cassandra (Steven) and Bradley; his 3 great- grandchildren Jackson, Julian, and Lucas; his former spouse of 21 years Barbara Bruner-Tarsi; and his sister Iren in Hungary. He is predeceased by his parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Joe attended a trade school in Hungary to be a Tool Maker Blacksmith and later brought those skills to Canada and had many jobs in between. Joe retired from Progressive Packaging Ltd as a Flexographic Printer after 25 plus years of dedicated service.
Joe was known as a handy man and enjoyed painting and fixing things. He was passionate about cooking homemade meals. Joe’s soups, stews and especially his cabbage rolls will be greatly missed by his family. Not only was Joe an owner of horses he was fond of horse racing, fishing, golfing, and classical music. Joe loved hockey and longed to see the Toronto Maple Leafs win the Stanley cup again. Joe was a man with many passions and interests. He loved his daily saunas, reading the newspaper and was well known for giving advice on vitamins and supplements to those around him.
Joe will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family, friends and by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
