It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our dearest mother, Josefa Cover (nee Borrallo Daza) on October 20th, 2024 in her 82nd year. Josefa was born on February 21, 1942 in Plasencia, Spain to Marcelo and Maria, and was a beloved sister to Bene (predeceased), Marcelina, Juan, Leandro, Maria del Carmen, Domingo, Maria Sol and Dolores Borrallo Daza.

Josefa is now reunited with the love of her life, Umberto (predeceased, February 2001). Josefa and Umberto married in 1974 in Spain and immigrated to Toronto with their daughter Nives in search of a bright future, soon welcoming their second daughter Nadia (Frank).

She will be greatly missed by her daughters and her doting granddaughter Alyssandra. She will also be missed by her many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Josefa believed it was important that her family was happy and ensured everyday that they were. She loved to prepare picnics for her family, and enjoyed preparing for holidays for them, whether it be a birthday or Thanksgiving. In her quiet time, she enjoyed tending to her garden where she could express her passion for flowers and plants. 

She will be forever loved, and always remembered.

Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home (4671 Highway 7, Woodbridge) on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service to take place on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Ward Funeral Home Chapel (4671 Highway 7, Woodbridge). A private family interment to take place at a later date.

Donations may be made in Josefa's memory to Hospice Vaughan and the Canadian Cancer Society.
