It is with deep sorrow that we announce that José Maciel passed away peacefully on June 10, 2023, surrounded by family.

José was a loving husband to Virginia for over 55 years and a wonderful father to their two children Gina and Robert, their spouses Jorge and Cristina, and a cherished grandfather to Ava, Raquel and Olivia. He will be deeply missed by his entire family. José’s huge heart, irrepressible spirit and willingness to connect with everyone he met was a treasured gift to those who were fortunate to have him in their lives. His big smile, helpful nature and unmatched appetite for conversation created a lifetime of memories with family and friends, and he will be sorely missed.

Visitation for José will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Ward Funeral Home, 52 Main Street South, Brampton. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 60 Main Street South, Brampton at 10:30am on Thursday June 15, 2023. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 6933 Tomken Road, Mississauga. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the charity of your choice in José's memory.
