Jonathan Whiteside

In loving memory of Jonathan Haven Whiteside, who passed away peacefully at Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga on Monday, May 18, 2015 at the age of 52. Beloved husband of Roseanna Maria Whiteside. Most loved and cherished father of Connor and Lauren. Son of Haven, Rose (predeceased) and Ann. He will be sadly missed by his siblings Joanna (Curt), Matthew (Sherri), and Kathy. Cherished brother-in-law to John (Jennifer), and Renato (Janis). He will also be fondly remembered by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Jonathan was born in Boston, Massachusetts and was raised in Washington D.C. and the State of Maine. At a chance encounter, he met the love of his life and moved permanently to Canada. Jonathan enjoyed living life to the fullest by spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed softball, golf and hockey. He was passionate about his career in the construction industry. He had great respect for his employers Terry and Robert, and the rest of his colleagues at Penalta Group. His sense of humour, his strong work ethic and his bravery will be an inspiration to all who knew Jonathan. He made a strong impression on everyone he met, and he will be greatly missed. The family wishes to send a sincere and heartfelt thank you to family, friends, neighbours and our community of priests for their prayers of support, countless visits and phone calls. A special thank you to Dr. Jeff Myers and his team at Credit Valley Hospital for their compassion, tenderness and guidance through this difficult journey.
Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home “Oakville Chapel” 109 Reynolds Street, Oakville on Friday, May 22 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 23 at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, 181 Sewell Drive, Oakville, at 10am. Interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Milton. In lieu of flowers, donations to a trust fund set up for Jonathan’s children, Lauren and Connor would be greatly appreciated by his family.
