John Turner

John was born and raised in Leaside and very proud of it. He was a wonderful Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and friend. John will be missed greatly by his son Paul (Sylvie), his daughter Lori (Peter), his grandchildren Joseph (Rikki), Helen, Daniel and his great grandchildren Caleb and Carson. He will also be missed by special friends Gwen, Cynthia and Shannon.

Dad was a CA, CGA & CPA and was proud to tell anyone that he had both CA & CGA designations for 50 years.

Around the time he finally retired (77years old) he moved from Don Mills to the cottage on the shores of Georgian Bay. This was his dreams and he lived out his retirement years happily overlooking Ossosane Beach. Many of the cottage neighbours will remember his daily 3pm track down to the beach for his swim. This swim was usually with his son-in-law Peter or his neighbour Vince.

Dad’s favourite pastime was his newspaper and the puzzles that it contained. Every day started with the crossword and jumble puzzles. Then the call to Gwen to compare notes and try and figure out where they were stuck.

Dad was quick to help anyone and made many friends because of it. He will be missed by his family and friends from the cottage.
