John Mamo passed away peacefully at Hospice Vaughan on March 9, 2023. John was born to Concetta & Albert in Malta, on October 23, 1931. He was the devoted husband of the late Yvonne Mamo ‘nee Sammut’. Loving father of Diane (Roy) and Marvin (Paula). He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Michelle (Rex), Greg (Christina), and Steven and by his great grandchildren Abigail and Sebastian, who always brought a smile to his face. He will be lovingly remembered by his nieces & nephews. John & Yvonne are together again in heaven. John was peacefully called home and he is now reunited with his love.
A devout Catholic serving as an alter boy in his formative years, he was athletic as he loved to swim & play soccer. John was an honest and hardworking man, his friends and family will remember him as a kind, gentle & caring man. He met Yvonne in Malta, and after courting he came to Canada. Once he was settled in a new country, he brought her here so they could begin their lives together. Soon they married and started a family. He worked hard to create a better life for his entire family here in Canada.
Nothing made him more happy, proud, or complete than being surrounded by his loved ones. He took disco dancing lessons and loved to dance with his late wife. Their love was timeless and will live on forever through their children and grandchildren. He will forever remain in the hearts of all who loved him.
