John Thomas Carroll of Toronto passed away Wednesday October 9, 2024, at Chartwell Scarlet Heights Residence in his 91st year. Born June 30, 1934, in Toronto to the late Fred and Margaret (Dempster) Carroll. Survived by his devoted wife of 67 years Shirley Mae (Day) and his brother Fred Carroll (Meri- Diane) and predeceased by his sister Eleanor Ash (Moe). Loving father to Brian (Caroline), Wayne (Mui) and Darlene Hannen (Rick). Cherished Grandfather to Sean (Sarah), Adam (Nadia) Kyle (Danielle) and Jennifer (Ethan). Fondly remembered by his many nephews and nieces.
John spent his entire career as a plumber (Local 46), working on many large construction projects that defined the Toronto skyline. He spent several years in the 70’s building the Bruce and Pickering Nuclear generating stations.
John and Shirley enjoyed camping trips with their family, spending time at their cottage on Lake Simcoe and traveling together on many trips. John was a passionate Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays Fan.
Light refreshments and food will be served during the memorial gathering.
