Retired Staff Sgt. Toronto Police with 40 years service, retired Canadian Armed Forces Korean War Vet and proud member of the Limber Gunners Association and the Toronto Police Pipe Band. In his 85th year “Jack” passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, January 18, 2016 at the Ian Anderson House. Beloved husband of June-Marie for 62 years. Loving father of Sharlaine (Trevor) Howes and Cathy (John) Hogg. Cherished Poppa of Kathryn (Mike) Haney, Lisa (Geoff) Abreu, Jay (Christina), Nick (Lauren), Kris and Poppa J to great grandchildren Addison, Keira, Matthew and Avery. Dear brother of Donna Donachie and the late Ian. He will be sadly missed by all his extended family and friends. A special thank you to the staff and volunteers at the Ian Anderson House for their outstanding care and compassion. Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home 2035 Weston Road, Weston, on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. for a memorial visitation. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations to either the Ian Anderson House or Toronto Police Widows and Orphans Fund would be greatly appreciated.
